I have been waiting for this day since early November. Winter fly fishing is now officially over and the spring run of Potomac shad has begun. Cormorants, ospreys, and herons indicate the migratory fish are in the river. Splashing tails and tight lines only confirm.
Here are some client pictures from today's outing on the Potomac. Fish were either caught on a damsel nymph or one of my shad jig flies.
Who had a death wish more today? The guy wading in the Potomac or the guy jumping on rocks with his bike over the Potomac?
